General Secretary: The Rev'd Dr Duncan Dormor
Duncan became General Secretary of USPG in January 2018. Duncan is an Anglican priest, a published author, teacher and public speaker. Before joining USPG, Duncan spent nearly twenty years at St John’s College, Cambridge, where he served as Dean of Chapel and President (Head of the Fellowship) and taught anthropology and sociology of religion. He has degrees in Human Sciences, Theology and Demography. Duncan is currently a member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland’s Mission and Theological Advisory Group.

Theologian and Director of Global Mission: Rev’d Canon Dr Peniel Rajkumar
Peniel joined USPG in 2021, having previously worked as Programme Coordinator for Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation at the World Council of Churches in Geneva. Peniel’s important contributions to the understanding of mission today and key interfaith dialogues on behalf of the WCC serve as excellent experience at USPG where we hold Anglican theologies that are genuinely global in their vision and scope.
Peniel was ordained in the Diocese of London and served his curacy in North London (2005-2008), while completing his PhD in Applied Theology from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He has also held teaching positions at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey and the United Theological College in Bangalore, and has written extensively on Dalit theology, missiology and interfaith dialogue. He is also an Honorary Canon Theologian of York Minster and Worcester Cathedral.
As a keen sports fan, you may well find Peniel watching the cricket at Lord's or the tennis at Wimbledon.
Director of Finance and Operations: Vijay Christian
Vijay joined USPG in June 2022 and has welcomed how working with churches and different cultures around the world has grown his Christian faith. His experience in the charity sector stretches over 20 years, including organisations such as the UK Faith and Belief Forum and the Gujarat Tract & Book Society in India. He is a Registered Chartered Manager and he holds MSc in International Accounting and Finance. As Director of Finance and Operations at USPG, he leads Finance, Human Resources, IT, facilities, properties and other office operations. He was born and raised in a Christian family and has been involved with church from an early age, including everything from a youth leader to serving tea and cake. In addition to English, he is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati, his mother tongue. At home, Vijay enjoys spending time with his two children.
Director of Communications, Engagement and Fundraising: Atim Henshaw
Atim joined USPG in 2023, bringing ten years’ experience in the INGO sector at organisations such as World Vision International, Medair UK, Christian Aid and Street Child. She has enjoyed working with colleagues across the globe and their supporters who have been so committed and loyal to the mission and vision of the organisation. She has previously worked in communications, fundraising and marketing teams, and looks forward to applying her skills and knowledge to raise the profile of USPG. She holds an MBA from Brunel University, and a Prince2 qualification. As CEF Director, Atim has a clear mandate to bring change through her leadership of a team which spans communications, fundraising and engagement.
In her spare time, Atim loves spending time with family and friends. She describes herself as a girl’s girl who regularly finds herself in local coffee shops having a catch up with a friend or two. She also enjoys reading, podcasting and travelling.
Global Mission Team
Regional Manager for Europe and Oceania: Ella Sibley
Ella joined USPG in 2023, having previously worked as a project manager for the Methodist Church in Britain, developing missional projects including young adult engagement, carbon reduction and refugee hospitality projects. As Regional Manager for Europe and Oceania, Ella accompanies churches across these areas, including in Britain and Ireland, as they engage God’s mission and champion justice in their communities.
Ella serves as a Local Preacher in the Tower Hamlets Methodist Circuit, and coaches pioneer ministers around the UK. She enjoys walking, reading and playing board games.
Regional Manager for Asia and the Middle East: The Rev'd Davidson Solanki
Davidson joined USPG in January 2014. Over the 24 years prior, he worked for World Vision India and Tearfund UK undertaking humanitarian development work, peace and reconciliation at grassroots, national and international levels, often in diverse and highly complex environments. As Regional Manager for Asia & Middle East, Davidson is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners in these regions, putting the goal of mutual transformational mission at the heart of the encounter. The role involves close engagement with the churches focused on responding sensitively to their mission context alongside communicating and implementing USPG’s vision, mission, and strategy.
Davidson studied Mechanical Engineering, Sociology, Peace & Conflict Resolution and Theology. In 2020 he was ordained as Minister in Church of England in the Diocese of London and currently serves as an honorary (self-supporting) Associate Priest in the Parish of St Leonards Heston, London. He is passionate about justice and equality. He enjoys reading, music and listening to people’s life stories.
Regional Programme Coordinator in Asia, Middle East, Europe and Oceania: Nadia Sanchez
Nadia joined USPG in September 2023. Alongside Davidson and Ella, she is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Oceania. Having previously worked at WellWater charity doing programme development work in Nigeria, focussing on sustainability and human development approach for community development. Nadia spends her free time with family and friends and at the gym practicing Olympic lifting.
Theological Advisor / Regional Manager for the Americas and the Caribbean: Dr Paulo Ueti
In 2023, Paulo became Regional Manager for the Americas and the Caribbean and is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners in these regions, putting the goal of mutual transformational mission at the heart of the encounter. He also works with Rev’d Canon Dr Peniel Rajukmar concerning matters of theology across the Communion.
Paulo came to faith aged 13 and has since held the Bible and theologies as his passions and path. He credits the Contextual Bible Studies methodology as helping him understand his call to be a changemaker. Alongside his studies, Paulo, a Brazilian national, was very involved with the Landless Peoples Movement in Brazil. He was a full time Professor at the University of Brasilia and Seminary Saint Bonaventura (Roman Catholic Seminary) until 2012 when he joined the Anglican Communion Office, working as a regional facilitator for Anglican Alliance.
Paulo describes himself as a quiet person who likes walking in nature, exploring caves, reading good novels and, when possible, simply enjoying wherever he is.
Regional Manager for Africa: Fran Mate
Fran joined USPG in 2014. As Regional Manager for Africa, Fran is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners in these regions, putting the goal of mutual transformational mission at the heart of the encounter.
Prior to USPG, Fran served in senior management in various capacities at international and national charities. She also taught at a high school in Africa and worked as a Teaching Assistant in Child Poverty and Development at the London School of Economics (LSE). She has served on Advisory/Directors Boards of church institutions, parastatals and non-profit organisations in Africa, including chairing Board sub-committees. Fran has a degree in Sociology, Geography and Christian studies, specialising in governance, management and social protection. She also has two Masters degrees in: Poverty Reduction (Planning and Management) from the University of Birmingham, and in Social Policy Research from LSE.
Regional Programme Coordinator: Africa, the Americas & the Caribbean: Venetia Asare
Venetia joined USPG in 2023. Alongside Fran, she is responsible for strengthening USPG’s relationship with global Anglican Church partners in these regions.
Venetia previously worked as a Programmes and Communications Officer at the Institute of Economic Affairs in Ghana. She holds an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics, and a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Kent. In conjunction with the MSc, she worked as Graduate Consultant for Oxfam Great Britain. Her other experiences include working at the Electoral Commission in Ghana, and in the Multilateral Relations Bureau and the Inspectorate & Internal Audit Bureau, both at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Ghana.
In her spare time, Venetia loves spending time with her family as well as singing, dancing and attempting to draw.
Research & Learning Advisor: Dr Jo Sadgrove
Jo joined USPG in 2012 as a programme evaluator, but she now leads the research work. USPG's research interests have included community health engagement across Africa; human trafficking; the relevance and utility of the Sustainable Development Goals to our partners and within the UK; issues around the churches, gender and violence in South Africa; the nature of human rights abuses facing the IFI in the Philippines. Since 2019, in an on-going collaboration with the University of Leeds, USPG’s research has focussed on better understanding our archives and our history as an agent of the British Empire and a slave-owning organisation. Jo started out her professional life in the academic sector, including a geography-based post-doctoral project exploring how debates about sexualities and gender in different parts of the Anglican Communion were shaped by local contextual dynamics.
Jo is a visiting fellow at the School of Philosophy, Religions and the History of Science at the University of Leeds and a trustee of the Leeds Church Institute.
Communications, Engagement and Fundraising
Senior Communications and Engagement Manager: Rachael Anderson
Rachael (with an extra 'A') joined USPG at the beginning of 2023, having previously worked as an Engagement Manager for the Trussell Trust, resourcing, communicating with and activating their Church and Christian audiences. Before that, she was Digital Communication and Events Manager for Mothers’ Union. As Communications Manager for USPG, Rachael heads up our Communications function including media, publications and all promotion of USPG to external audiences.
Rachael volunteers as a Samaritan in her spare time. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her friends and being Auntie Rah Rah to 10+ children!
Communications Officer: Rachel Weller
Rachel (without an 'A') joined USPG in 2023, but has walked past the office unknowingly since 2018 on her way to King's College London where she studied Portuguese & French. She is all about combining faith and languages for good - be it supporting migrants at a NGO in Lisbon, Portugal, summer camps in Belgium or a CMS project for young girls in northern Brazil. She is motivated by real-life stories of hope around the world and the increasing power of digital platforms to share them where appropriate. As Communications Officer, she makes sure that you hear about them too.
In her spare time, Rachel loves a good charity shop, outdoor swimming and tracking planes she wishes she were on.
Church Engagement Manager: Carol Miller
Carol joined USPG in January 2024 as Church Engagement Manager. She brings a chequered professional history, including Kitchen Planner at Ikea, Missions Coordinator to Ukraine, and most recently, New Wine Leadership Network Relationship Manager. Carol describes her strategy for building relationships as finding new best friends and getting them excited about USPG. She is passionate about resourcing churches and church leaders. Carol is married to H and together they have four adult children and two grandsons. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cycling, going for long walks, travelling and cooking (her ‘happy place’).
Church Engagement and Fundraising Officer: Fiona Oteng
Fiona joined USPG in November 2023, having previously worked at the Institution of Civil Engineers as an Events Officer. Alongside Carol, she is responsible for Church engagement and the volunteer supporter journey. She also organises USPGs presence at Christian festivals and challenge runs.
Fiona has a MSc in Children Youth and International Development, volunteered as a UNICEF Children’s Champion and spent time in the South of Brazil researching and training on the situations of street connected teenagers, to promote quality of life. She loves to travel and while a piece of her heart stays in Brazil, she is currently developing a love of the Turkish language.
Senior Fundraising Manager: Janine Goddard
Janine joined USPG in 2020, but has worked in fundraising for over 20 years at various national and international charities. In her role at USPG, she enjoys broadening my fundraising experience by working on different income streams and projects as part of the wider Communications and Engagement team. She leads the fundraising team to raise voluntary income for the work of USPG's church partners. She manages the fundraising staff and develops the strategy for growth as well as submitting funding applications, creating marketing campaigns and reporting on income.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and travel.
Individual Giving Manager: Imran Englefield
Imran joined USPG in 2023, with a background as a director of a direct marketing agency for 23 years. His experience in enhancing donor acquisition for many major UK charities through diverse channels has been pivotal in his career. As an Individual Giving Manager at USPG, Imran applies his marketing knowledge to cultivate and grow relationships with new and existing individual donors, crucial for the organisation's outreach and impact.
Outside the office, Imran is passionate about health and fitness, serving as a coach for strength-building programs. He is also a sports lover who greatly values spending time with his family, often over coffee and cake.
Individual Giving Officer: Jessica Homawoo
As a Marketing Communications graduate from the University of Westminster, Jess is excited to mix her creativity and strategic thinking. As an Individual Giving Officer she is excited to work with the team to put creative strategies in place to engage with USPG's supporters.
In her spare time, Jess enjoys serving at her church, photography, painting, illustrating children's books and a good psychological thriller.
Muthoni Mwangi – Supporter Care Officer
Muthoni joined USPG after having worked in charity organisations such as Mothers’ Union and The Royal British Legion as an administrator and Member Care Officer in the Fundraising departments. In her current role as Supporter Care Officer, she is the first point of contact for any queries and donations that come our way; ensuring our generous and dedicated supporters receive a high level of supporter care. Music and the arts are some of her main passions as in her free time she writes and performs music with fellow singer-songwriters.
Finance and Operations
Kandeepan Espirial – Finance Manager
Kandeepan joined USPG in October 2018. Before following his heart into the charity sector, Kandeepan worked in accountancy practice for 10 years. He is a CIMA qualified accountant and holds an MBA. As Finance Manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day finance functions of USPG and ensuring good financial controls are in place and that sound and appropriate practices are maintained.
Outside of work, Kandeepan enjoys listening to music, reading and spending time with his family.
Meryl Matthew - Finance and Administration Assistant
Meryl Mathew joined USPG in October 2021, having previously worked at an accountancy firm where she completed her placement year following her Master’s degree. As the Finance and Administration Assistant, she manages donations, assists in the payment run and other aspects of day-to-day finance along with carrying out administrative tasks in support of the organisation. Meryl enjoys being outdoors and loves to travel. During holidays, she takes pleasure in exploring new places and collecting experiences.

Chris Hill - Special Project Manager - Renewal & Reconciliation, The Codrington Reparations Project
Chris joined USPG in early 2024, having previously worked in operations, market research and project management for the legal and higher education sectors. Holding an MA in Postcolonial Studies from the University of Kent, he remains a member of Kent’s Centre for Indigenous and Settler Colonial Studies. His own research focuses on the social and cultural impact of global capitalism, modern state militarism and climate change on postcolonial island states, with a chapter on the Chagos Archipelago due to be published in 2024. In his private time, he enjoys reading, drawing, and walking in the countryside around his home in Canterbury, Kent.
Catherine Wakeling - Archivist
Catherine's role is to manage USPG's archives for the benefit of the Society and wider community – ensuring their preservation and making them accessible; provide a records management service and share in the work involved in Data Protection compliance.
Renata Rust – Office Manager
Renata joined USPG as Office Manager in October 2022 having previously worked as Operations Manager and Property Manager in churches in Islington, Twickenham, and Hounslow. Renata is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the USPG office including the provision of IT support, Facilities Management, and Human Resources administration. In addition, she assists the Director of Finance and Operations in compliance with USPG policies in the areas of Safeguarding, H&S and GDPR.
Renata trained as a physiotherapist, and she still does some physiotherapy work over weekends. In her free time, she enjoys ice dancing, and cycling or mountain hiking with her family.
