The Lusophone Network

THE LUSOPHONE NETWORK

The Lusophone Network connects members of the worldwide Anglican Communion who share Portuguese as a common language. It represents some 350,000 Portuguese-speaking Anglicans and Episcopalians in Africa, Europe and South America: Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique and Angola.

The network aims to strengthen the solidarity between Portuguese-speaking Anglican and Episcopal churches and increase their visibility in the Communion. It also enables the various national churches to develop and grow through sharing resources and offering mutual support, encouragement and knowledge. Its areas of focus include care for the environment, Christian education and theology, and women’s and youth work.

USPG has been a supporter of the Lusophone Network and its work since 2015 and is proud to stand with the network in its aim to contribute to the unity, life and witness of the Anglican Communion.

The Lusitanian Church took part in USPG's 2021 Communion Day of Prayer and you can watch their contribution below.
